Welcome to Kindergarten! My name is Mrs. Kelli Padgett and I am so excited to have the opportunity to be your child’s teacher.  It’s going to be a year full of fun, learning, and lots of adventures!  Because I will be spending each day with your child, I’d like to tell you a few things about myself both professionally and personally.

I was born and raised in Laurens County.  I graduated with honors from East Laurens High School.   I received my Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Mercer University and my Master’s degree in Reading and Mathematics.   I was a Pre-k Paraprofessional for three and a half years and have been teaching twelve years at East Laurens.  I am married to my wonderful husband, Craigg.  We have a daughter (Zoey) who is 4 and keeps me on my toes and a son (Walker) that is 1.  They take up all my free time but teaching is an absolute passion of mine and I am wholeheartedly committed to this class and to help your child reach his/her highest potential.  I believe it is my duty to be open to the needs of my students while creating a friendly but structured environment.

Parents are the most important people in a child’s life, and I hope that we can work together for the benefit of your child.  I will keep you informed about all aspects of your child’s experiences at school.  In return, I need your support of my academic, homework, and discipline efforts.  If we work together at school and home I know that each and every student can have a successful school year!

Please be assured that my goal is to work with your child to strive for excellence in every aspect of their life.  If you have any questions or concerns, I will be available to talk with you during my planning time or through email at kellipadgett@lcboe.net.  The school phone number is 478-272-4440.

I am looking forward to sharing many wonderful experiences with you and your child!
